- This painting started the way many of my paintings do, by wetting random areas of the paper, dipping selected colours in the water and waiting to see how it dries. Once dry, I repeat the process. The result may suggest something to me, if not I repeat until it does. Sometimes I turn the paper round to view a different perspective. I then work into the base image until a picture emerges. The initial image was horizontal, a series of loosely worked acrobats. During the final layers I decided to turn the image into the vertical, to create an ethereal image of life. The title was the end of the process. Three small prints are available from this picture.
