- If you live by the sea you have to paint the setting sun. A simple picture, but surprisingly difficult and time-consuming to produce. With this type of painting great sensitivity to slight change of colour, and enormous patience, is required. There are between 30-40 layers of paint, carefully applied and dried to create a depth of colour almost impossible to achieve in any other medium. Best painted on a hot summer’s day!
